Believer's Baptism Form
As Head of His church, Jesus instituted two ordinances for the church: communion & baptism. Communion, or The Lord’s Supper, was instituted before His death. Baptism was instituted after His death.
Baptism literally means “to be immersed.” And so, the point of baptism is to be immersed/dunked in water as an illustration of your immersion into both the death & life of Jesus Christ. Romans 6:4 puts it this way: “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.”
So, baptism is the outward testimony of the inward life that has been granted through faith in Christ. Baptism is a celebration of the spiritual life you have in Christ, AND a celebration of being a family member in the church.
